Brit Emunim event: A Gathering After the Horrific Attack and the Sexual Assault of October 7th

How are you sister?
So, how are you brother?

This is a scary question right now. Many of us avoid it to prevent hurting ourselves or others. And yet, we don't want you to remain alone. Especially not now when we all know that this too was part of the terrible atrocities and crimes against humanity of that black Shabbat.

This Thursday, 30.11.23 at 19:00
We will all gather at the Shalom Hartman Institute to pray for the victims of the vicious sexual violence that occurred on October 7 against women and men of all religions, genders and ages, and to strengthen the community of therapists.

Ahead of Parshat Vayishlach, we will stand alongside Dinah to pray and gain strength together in the face of those crimes that are always important to mention, and especially during the week marking the struggle to eliminate violence against women.

We have each other

You are not alone.
You are welcome to share this invitation and come together.

If you are interested in learning or teaching about the abuse and suffering of the biblical Dinah on Shabbat Parshat Vayishlach or any other time, you are welcome to make use of the new and existing materials in the Gluya magazine.
Throughout the days of the week between the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and "Shabbat Dinah", educational and explanatory material will be uploaded both for community leaders preparing sermons and classes, and for the general public.

The material offered here includes essays, poems, prayers, source sheets, and interviews relating directly to the biblical Dinah and the traditional commentaries, as well as texts addressing awareness and commitment to prevent sexual abuse and harassment, coping with personal trauma and trauma in the community, and the search for paths of resilience, healing, and recovery.

In addition to the new texts on the website, you can find older texts dealing with these topics as well.

*The majority of the texts are in Hebrew, and some are also in English.
