The Week of Dinah in the Media
Articles, op-eds, interviews, and conversations from Shevet Dinah's activities

Our Public Voice
Throughout The Week of Dinah, partners in the Shevet Dinah Coalition raise their voices in the public sphere, standing alongside Dinah and affirming their commitment to survivors of sexual assault.
Here you will find newspaper and Shabbat bulletin articles, opinion pieces, podcast episodes, radio interviews, and YouTube videos published as part of The Week of Dinah over the years. These publications offer diverse interpretations of Dinah’s story in Parashat Vayishlach, connecting the study of Jewish texts with questions of sexual violence, silence and silencing, listening, and community responsibility.

The Week of Dinah in the Press over the Years
The Week of Dinah initiative brings together organizations, communities, educational institutions, and individual initiatives across Jewish movements in Israel and the Diaspora. Around the reading of Parashat Vayishlach, we stand together alongside Dinah and in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence, expressing responsibility and support that are woven into all The Week of Dinah activities.
Each year, we seek to make our shared moral stance heard in the public sphere, a stance embraced by all partners in the Shevet Dinah Coalition: standing alongside Dinah and in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence. We seek to express this commitment through concrete action: listening, providing support, preventing harm, and promoting safety. Our publications in the press are part of a broader effort to expand the circle of responsibility and invite others to join the conversation and take action.

The Principles of The Week of Dinah
Personal and Collective Responsibility
The Shevet Dinah Coalition seeks to restore Dinah to our shared story, together with the story of sexual violence, silence, and the silencing of sexual violence. Our hope is to raise awareness and to build a collective culture with greater responsibility, less silencing, a greater ability to recognize and respond to sexual violence, and more support and professional referrals for survivors.
We have come together and will continue to draw strength from the support that has taken shape, and continues to take shape, through the very choice to speak out, to echo our commitment, and to act with responsibility.
Your support strengthens The Week of Dinah.

Would Your Community or Organization Like to Join Us?
If you would like to join Shevet Dinah and take part in our annual initiative, join us:
During The Week of Dinah
and on Shabbat Vayishlach,
we will stand together and say to survivors:
We stand with you!
As communities, we too bear responsibility.
Our goal is to stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault, support them, amplify their voices, and resist silencing. Speaking with moral clarity and affirming our commitment to survivors help foster sexual safety and prevent further harm. By speaking out, we commit ourselves, now and in the future, to responding when harm occurs and refusing to enable silencing.
Together, as diverse organizations and communities representing the breadth of Jewish life in Israel and throughout the Diaspora, we will stand with survivors of sexual assault and foster a culture of safety and prevention.
Together, we will stand in solidarity, affirm our belief in survivors, respond with care and compassion, and call for repair and healing.
